Patricia Middleton

My name is Patricia Middleton and I am from Glasgow. Since the late 1990’s I have lived in Aberdeen, Bahrain, Kinross and Nigeria. I moved to Doha in 2010. I was previously on the Committee of the Lagos Caledonian Society and the Caledonian Society in Bahrain. Some of you may have heard my reply on behalf of the lassies last year. I hope you enjoyed the night as much as I did. I am delighted to be this year’s Chieftain and to be working with such a great Committee. I am looking forward to many wonderful evenings celebrating all things Scottish.

Simon Ramsay

Simon was brought up in Livingston, just a stones throw in his eyes from his beloved Tynecastle. Looking after the ticket sales, he is ready to take your money and doesn’t give change, beware, this man is (still) Scottish.

Mairi McShane

Mairi McShane, daughter of the award winning gaelic singer Donnie Murdo MacLeod, joins the Qatar Caledonian Society in the position of “The Token Burd.” Mairi comes from Aberdeen where there wasn’t a dull grey day in sight when she was around! Having been in Doha for more than 5 years, Mairi is looking forward to her new challenge of bringing a wee bit of a girly touch to the committee - helping the Scots make their mark in Doha. She cannae wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

James McQuistin

I am a Financial Consultant working with Nexus Financial Services, we are based in West Bay, Doha. I am from Stranraer, my wife and four kids are still back in Scotland for now. My main interest is football, a keen Stranraer supporter and former board member of the mighty Blues. I also enjoy playing golf in my spare time, but haven't sampled the course in Doha yet, but I will. I am keen to support Scots in Qatar, and hopefully we will have lots of fun along the way.

Gail Chalmers

Born and brought up in sunny Stonehaven, I moved to the big smoke for university and spent most of the next decade in Glasgow.

New to Doha and looking for something to keep me occupied I decided to get involved with the Scots in Qatar committee. I am a fan of lists and organising things and am looking forward to being involved in all the events in the coming year.
